Whereas each day is the province of a single god, at night
     they copulate,
And so to lie between the two, in the strife between
     Woden and Thor,
Or a bashful Freya and Saturn in their indecision,
When the drop of the date, that trauma, is a desparation at
     deepest midnight,
While humans sleep through and wake numbed to the doing.
